The trend grew much more popular in the spring and summer of 2019. On August 1st, YouTube "i'm a huge faggot" made a parody dubbing the sound effects over a clip from Steven Universe (shown below, right). On March 30th, 2017 to Vimeo by user PikaCommando, who dubbed Half-Life sound effects over Star Wars footage (shown below). That day, they uploaded the video "Half-Real-Life bunnyhop discovered," which dubbed Half-Life sound effects over real-life footage and received more than 32,000 views in a little over seven years (shown below). One of the earliest known videos to parody Half-Life's sound effects was posted on June 5th, 2011 by YouTuber Maverick Jey-Kidding. Half-Life was released on November 19th, 1998. Half-Life Sound Effects refer to iconic sounds and voice lines from the Half-Life video game series which have been used in numerous video remixes and parodies, often using footage from real life.
